2000
Woop woop! I have hit 2000 watchers, which is a big hit of serotonin and/or validation for my hypnohorny writing, especially as I gained like 100 in the past two months when I haven't posted due to a combination of the busiest three weeks of work in my life and, before that, Xenoblade 3 and a big Genshin update at the same time. Anyway, to 'celebrate' there will be a big story posted in a few days which I've been working on (very on and off) since my last post. But, to specifically celebrate 2000 watchers, let's play a game. Post a pic of a girl (or guy, but you won't win) who hasn't been manipped on DA to your knowledge, with a story idea if you have one. Whichever comment gets the most updoot I'll make my next post (after the one coming up).
Mauri-Views: The Verifiers
tl;dr I read a book after the writer was on a podcast. Is an excellent social commentary, a starts-good-but-ends-weakly murder mystery, and a half-formed diasporic coming of age story. 8/10. What the fuck are you talking about, Mauri? So, as is becoming a semi-annual tradition, I am writing a review of something that distracted me from writing your hypnoporn fix. In this case, it's a book that came out a couple of months ago that I finally got around to reading which I can see vanishingly few opinions about online (partially because it's by a first-time author and not especially well-publicised, I heard about it because she was on a leftist podcast!). The book I speak of is The Verifiers by Jane Pek. Ostensibly, it's a modern murder mystery-cum-immigrant family drama. In reality, it's both of those things, and also a measured meditation on how technology has creeped into the most fundamental aspects of human life. It is better as the latter than as the former two, but I think it's
1500!
I missed it yesterday while putting out a deviation, but I have now noticed I'm past the 1500 mark. Woohoo!!! Unlike for 1000, I have neither any plans of what to do with the milestone, nor the time to implement anything ambitious. So just thanks to all of you for giving me that sweet numbers-go-up serotonin, and hope you continue to get reading-kinky-fiction serotonin
Mauri-views: One Piece
Once again, I have been distracted from doing too much on the DA front by a new and exciting piece of media. But this time I actually completed it, so I'll be damned if I'm not going to squeeze some content out of it. Because yes, I am caught up on One Piece. Since the start of April, I have read all 1,013 chapters. I have thoughts, so Mauri-views is back! So, for those of you who live under rocks and/or have no interest in the damn weeb stuff, One Piece is a long-running battle shounen manga series. It follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, an idiot who ate a magic fruit which means he can stretch his skin like rubber but can't swim. He wants to be King of the Pirates and find the famous treasure at the end of the sea, the One Piece (roll credits!). In the process of his journey, he gathers a cast of loyal crewmates and meets an incredibly large cast of side characters and villains and visits a variety of quirky islands. In English, 'long-running battle shounen manga series'
